valérie fumat

Skipper

RYA Yachtmaster Offshsore

Passionate about sailing, Valérie entered the world of regattas, first on a 420 with her sister, then solo on a Moth Europe. Over the years, she has had the chance to sail on various types of boats, from cruisers to racing yachts, and to participate in some incredible offshore races, most recently the Ocean Globe Race.

Today, sailing is an integral part of her life. It’s a way for her to push herself, reconnect with nature, and experience intense moments at sea. She continues to train regularly and participate in regattas, with the aim of constantly improving and pushing her limits.

Sailing is much more than a sport for her; it’s a true passion that brings me joy, adrenaline, and satisfaction. She is grateful for the opportunity to practice this sport and experience unforgettable moments on the water.

herrade cougoureux

Crew

FFV Cruising Instructor

Herrade first discovered her love for the sea through windsurfing, which sparked a deeper interest in sailing. Eager to explore larger yachts, she set her sights on becoming a cruising instructor — a decision that would shape her professional path. She quickly progressed to become a sailing school supervisor and trainer.

After two years of instructing, Herrade took on the role of Base Manager at Les Glénans Sailing School, where she was responsible for overseeing instructors as well as managing the operational and navigational aspects of life on the Glénan archipelago.

Her experience goes beyond coastal sailing — she has served as First Mate on a transatlantic crossing and taken part in various offshore racing adventures, including a Figaro 3 delivery from France to Ireland. Passionate about racing, she thrives on speed and the thrill of high-performance sailing.

In addition to her sailing credentials, Herrade is highly skilled in ropework and rigging, having worked with a professional rigging company alongside her sailing career.

Sacha Felettig

Crew & Cook

Sacha began his professional journey as a trained boilermaker-welder, mastering technical precision and hands-on work. He later followed his passion for cuisine, completing a culinary program and working as a chef in restaurants and as a private chef for guests.

His connection to the sea began during a 6-month traineeship at Les Glénans Sailing School, where he was introduced to sailing and quickly developed a strong interest in offshore life.

Later that year, Sacha joined L’Esprit d’Équipe as crew for Leg 2 of the Ocean Globe Race, sailing across the Indian Ocean from Cape Town to Auckland — a demanding passage that deepened his offshore sailing experience.

This journey not only sharpened his seamanship but also proved his value as a reliable deckhand and a strong team player, particularly in nautical maintenance and life at sea.
